Segmentation Error with Fur Rendering

I am rendering fur with PBR Pixel Sample 20x20 and density at 4000 - which by the way is not that much.
Ideally, I would like the density to be 30000 but as of this quarter, the fur stopped rendering. I decided to render from commandline with verbose just to see whats really going on. Well...I get a segmentation error.
I believe this has to do with graphics card setting or driver...
Is there a way to fix this.

The fur renders when I reduce it to fur density 3000 and below and also pixel sample 18x18 but this is just not sufficient for what am trying to do.

An alternative is to ignore pixel sample and use min/man rays but that also yields segmentation error.
Has anyone had any segmentation issues?
