Post-Render Motion Blur

Anybody know any good techniques and care to commentate on pros and cons? I know of the 2d and 3d vector renders, but I've never used them. I'm definitely open for conceptual suggestions to test as well.

Sorry for the delay in response.

First, you'll need your motion vector data (obviously):
Create Motion Vector Render Pass

There's the Maya command-line way of rendering blur onto your images:
Maya blur2d utility

I'm not an expert on this, I dont know all the ways that other students composite MotionVector data back onto their render. I'm just trying to point you in the right direction. If you find any other information, please post it here for other students. Specifically, 3D Motion Vectors might look slightly better, but Maya's blur2d only works with 2D motion vectors...Again, I dont know the exact node in Nuke or Effect in AfterEffects for this, sorry.

In a production (not SCAD), you might find yourself using a proprietary solution, like:
