maya 2011: It will load my scene, get to 99% on the referenc

It will load my scene, get to 99% on the reference file and freeze up.

She was able to get it to open if she didn't load the reference, however, then if she tried to reload the reference, all of her animation was gone. It is possible that the reference is just taking a long time to load but we waited for several minutes without it opening. Also tried clearing the preferences.

Could the computer be running out of RAM when attempting to reference in a large scene?
Also is it possible that her one of her referenced files is corrupted? Were all of the references able to be opened independently?

It turns out that she just wasn't letting it load for long enough, because she was using a referenced scene. She finally let it sit for about 15 minutes and the scene loaded up.
