Exploding Static Mesh:

Postby bsoder20 on Feb 3rd, '10, 18:42

Known Issue:

On XW8400 workstations, static meshes will sporadically extrude random vertices into infinite space:

In the Static mesh editor:

This issue is somewhat erratic, but seems to occur after lighting has been built. This issue is not 100% prevalent so it is hard to confirm the actual cause. However, since it is probably caused by the older 1500 FX Qaudro's in the XW8400 workstations, disabling height fog or lightmass should resolve the issue. To do so, follow the instructions in the following thread:

This also happened on a z600.

From the UDK Editor, while play testing "in game" artifacts like these started showing up after about 3 minutes of gameplay.

correction, that machine was 204-21, a teacher station with an FX1500 card. Normally z600s would have FX1800 cards

Oh, that's good Will. I guess it's safe to say that it's only an issue with the 1500's then.
