"init: Id "x" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes."

we are getting the following message when attempting to boot into linux after a fresh install of redhat.
The installation process has completed and the system needs a reboot for the nvidia driver to install.
It during or right after the nvidia installation the message below begins to show up.

"init: Id "x" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes."

We have now gotten this message on three different machines that we've imaged.

I have not been able to find anything on the internet to help resolve this.

I've tried re-installing the nvidia driver but still get the same problem.

Any suggestions?
thanks so much!

I manually installed the nvidia 253 driver from init 3 but still get the same respawning problem.

I've found the message below before the respawning message:
binary handler for windows applications already registered.

googling that message indicates a problem with wine.

I've commented out the wine installation in the postscript.sh and I'm re-imaging mt-r114-20 (my test machine).

I also installed the latest nvidia driver for the quadro 400 which 290 but got the respawning thing again.
this is really sucking.
