Fatal Error. Attempting to save in c:/temp/brown

Upon launching Maya 2008 the following message pops up before Maya crashes...

Fatal Error. Attempting to save in c:/temp/brown

Any idea what causes this?

Usually that type of error occurs when your M: drive is full. Since your prefs are saved across the network on that drive, there must be at least some free space before launching Maya. Generally, Maya will fail to launch/crash immediately and give you a fairy generic error message if that's the case.
